We think of our wrinkles as something negative and ugly. But we should try to change the way we view our symptoms like wrinkles. We need to realize symptoms are the body’s way of warning us that something is wrong or out of balance. Wrinkles are clues to your health. They show us how we can help our bodies function more optimally. Of course we all want to get rid of our wrinkles, but try not to ignore what your body is telling you.
I read a good anti aging book called, “Do You Have the Guts to be Beautiful?” by Jennifer Daniels, M.D. and Mitra Ray, Ph.D. This is where I learned all about “reading your face” and how wrinkles are clues to your health.
Forehead Wrinkles
According to Doctors Daniels and Ray, forehead wrinkles can mean that you have waste in your intestines. The deeper the lines, the more waste you have backed up!
They recommend enemas but I have not done any so I can’t confirm or deny their effectiveness. I would try magnesium oxide, flax seeds, aloe vera juice, or epsom salts.
Worry Lines
Worry lines, or the 2 short vertical lines between they eyebrows, can be telling you that your liver is congested and not properly doing its job of filtering toxins from the body.
Doctors Daniels and Ray recommend a complicated liver flush that has too many steps for me. If you have these lines, I would consider cutting back/eliminating caffeine and alcohol (they stress your liver) in addition to the following liver supports:
- Essential oil blend of Tangerine Peel, Rosemary Leaf, Geranium Flower/Leaf, Juniper Berry, and Cilantro approved to be taken internally. Mine says to drink two drops once a day in 4 oz of liquid. Topically – you can rub it on your abdomen and the bottoms of your feet.
- Blend of artichoke, sasparilla, milk thistle, and wasabi from Body Ecology.
- Newton’s Homeopathic Detox Drops With any homeopathic remedy, avoid food, drink, and even toothpaste 15 minutes before/after the remedy. It is fine to drink water with homeopathy.
Crow’s Feet
The doctors say that crow’s feet are caused by processed and overcooked foods.
The solution to is pretty simple. Try to eliminate processed foods from your diet. Also, try to switch out cooked vegetables for raw vegetables instead. In addition, add more fiber containing foods to your diet.
Smile Lines
Smile lines are caused by a lack of minerals and Omega 3 fats in the diet. The doctors recommend adding one quarter cup of flax seeds to a green drink once a day.
I think you should also consider adding salmon, walnuts, hemp seeds, and chia to your diet since they are high in Omega Threes. You could also try supplementing with fish oil or cod liver oil.
What Do Puffy Eyes Mean?
It’s not just wrinkles that are clues to your health. Other common facial symptoms provide clues as well. Puffy eyes often mean that your diet is too high in sugar and refined products. Additional foods that can cause puffy eyes are: juices, pasta, wheat, grains, and any type of sugar (including honey and agave). If you eat a good amount of any of these foods, consider eliminating them from your diet to see if your puffy eyes go away.
What Do Blue Circles Under the Eyes Mean?
They are usually caused by bread and dairy. You should try to stop eating processed grains and add more vegetables to your diet.
What Do Age Spots Mean?
The doctors say they signify that the blood is filled with toxins. Consider eliminating the following from your diet:
- Preservatives
- Artificial colors and flavors
- Hydrogenated fats
- Sugar
They recommend taking activated charcoal with water at bedtime and supporting your liver as discussed above. In addition, they say age spots will disappear when rubbed with dandelion sap. I have not tried this yet but I will update this post when I do!
I recommend rubbing frankincense essential oil on your age spots.
What Does a Crease On Your Ear Lobes Mean?
According to Doctors Daniels and Ray, a crease on your ear lobe can be an early warning sign of heart disease. They recommend cutting meat out of your diet, giving up processed (packaged) foods, and reducing the salt and oil you consume. Additionally, you need to boost your circulation and could try supplements like ginko, hawthorn, turmeric, or cayenne.
I use 2 drops of turmeric essential oil under my tongue twice a day (as the instructions say) for circulation support. You could also consider 1 drop of black pepper essential oil in 4 oz of water once a day as an additional support. Make sure both oils are approved for internal use.
Enjoy being a health detective!
Note: For compliance reasons, I am not able to tell you on this blog which essential oil products I use or link you to them so that you can read about them for yourself. But if you want more information, please comment on this post and I am happy to tell you more about the oils I use and why.

I am a colleague of Marcia’s. I love the information in your blog. It is so health and non-toxic oriented. Protocols are well written, easy to understand and follow.
Hi Milla- I should have realized that you are a colleague of Marcia’s… you are so nice just like she is! Thank you so much for that encouragement. Nobody really knows my blog exists right now, so sometimes I start wondering, “why am I doing this?!” I love writing the posts, but figuring out all of the technology to make this thing work has been a steep learning curve! So, your words are so meaningful to me. You’re giving me what I need to keep going. THANK YOU!! – Maureen
